Indian Politics: Awesome victory of AAAP or AAP?

Arvind Kejriwal after Delhi Elections 2020

Finally, the Delhi elections came to an end with the counting of votes and declaring the winners. Just don’t confuse with AAAP; it’s a code allotted by EC to Aam Aadmi Party, however, our political mind always try to build something out of the scraps.

Anyway, in the awesome leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party has come up with flying colors harboring 62 seats out of the entire 70 seats. BJP has to be satisfied with 8 seats.

In fact, no one was expecting this one-sided result. The main opponent BJP was the biggest national party and its conveners and campaigners are world-class leaders. Moreover, in a small state like Delhi, the BJP did exercise all the tricks to win this election but all canceled in front of Delhiites and AAP. The awesome people of Delhi stick to work, development, and peace.

This is also beckoning that polarization and national issues do not work everywhere. The things are time-specific, place specific. Although, the BJP agenda is far broader than AAP motives and the same public that gave mandate to BJP in Loksabha elections has crowned Arvind Kejriwal in the state.

In some way, we can say that the voters of Delhi didn’t apart BJP, they just gave preference to AAP achievements over opponent’s glory. This is also remarkable that people are getting bored with old and worn back issues like nationalism and religion.

The critical condition of the economy and employment also worked as petrol in the fire. In addition, the daily protests and demonstrations in the country, especially in the national capital, developed a sense of arrogance towards the parties and politicians that were seen engaged in these.

Indian Politics and Arvind Kejriwal:

No doubt, in this election, the biggest face of AAP was Arvind Kejriwal and PM Modi on the other side. Thinking about Arvind Kejriwal, we should accept that he has come out of his image as a muffler man. In this election, he has seen answering appropriately at different media platforms with an emphasis on his government’s achievements. His voice and body language were the same as required for a state captain. Sometimes, he was tricky too when it came to taking advantage of JNU row or Shaheenbagh issue.

PM Modi is perceived as a national Leader:

PM Modi, on the other hand, has always been perceived as a national leader. His personality and achievements put him in the front line of world leaders. People don’t understand when he speaks out on local issues such as clean drinking water, Mohalla clinics and number of buses. He better known for Ayushman Bharat, Digital India, high-speed metro, article 370, NRC, CAA, etc. The ambiance of his initiatives is vast and heavy. Local elections do not withstand with national issues. Might be BJP scaled up if the state leaders would not have dependent on national agendas.

Shaheenbagh Issue:

We all know that Shaheenbagh's role is finished and all the protestors will be back to their home very soon. It is being ignited by politics to get the benefit and to give harm. Since the law and order of Delhi were the responsibility of BJP so it was BJP to take a solid stance to finish it. The common man understood that this time.

AAP victory opened up the new avenues:

The one by one setback for BJP in state assembly polls and Delhi verdict opened up the new avenues in Indian politics where BJP’s nationalism is also desired and the AAP development model is also required. In order to captivate national attention, the BJP must not experiment with controversial issues. Now, its time to focus on work and well-being. Although, AAP has cleared its way in national politics.
