“Information is power.” Everyone knows it well that today’s world runs on information. The growth and development of digital technologies make information to travel fast than your imagination. You may be thinking about a life insurance plan, suddenly ‘Metlife’ pops up on your screen.


What is Google today is the biggest entry point to the awesome world of information. You need a carpenter in your locality, you google it. You need a cab, the google will show you where the cab is? You need a doctor, Google will show you the option.


This is also important to note that Google is yet to be a God, who could understand your thinking and emotions in advance. That’s why you need to explore the “Google Search’ technology. Google Search is based on certain parameters, often we use to call it to google search criteria.


Today, we will explore all the possible google search tactics that help you to fetch out the exact information-


Google ‘General’ Search:



General Search refers to the search being performed by typing words or phrases in the google search bar. By searching this way, google shows you the most optimized contents relevant to your search. This type of result is based on Google search Algorithm.

Google ‘Exact Phrase Match’ Search:



If you want searching something specific with an exact match phrase match then you need to put your term inside “….” Quotes. Let me check it out with “President Trump visit to India”

Just look above at the image, all the top 3 results have the term “President Trump visit to India”. One thing you must need to learn that google search results also depend on your location and time zone. Since I am searching from India so it’s giving the most suitable results in the Indian context. If you search from Germany, it will show you the most suitable content in the German context.

Additionally, you can use asterisk within quotes to define unknown and variable words.

Google Search specific to sites:



Here, if you want to focus on searching something on a particular website, you need to search it like, your term site:abc.com. This type of search helps derive keywords from a specific site to gain a competitive edge. Will explain by the image given below-

The image above is showing that I have searched ‘The Times of India’ official website for Sachin Tendulkar and you are witnessing the results from the timesofindia.indiatimes.com.


Google ‘Hyphen’ Search:



This is a less common search type where you need to use a hyphen to choose a result over others. Hyphen is often used to abolish the ambiguity of the search results. For example, if you are searching for ATLAS, the chances are likely to have complicated results. But, since you are looking for a bicycle so you need to search for it like ATLAS- Bicycle.

Google ‘Link’ Search:



This search can be performed to check the linking sites of a website. The results will show you that how and where a particular site has been referred. For example, I tried link:zeenews.com

Google ‘Related’ Site Search:



This search is very interesting and can serve your purpose. This is concerned with a similar website search. If you are not getting the content that you are looking for, you can simply use this search to get a similar kinds of websites. See below,

Google ‘intitle’ Search:



You can fetch out the pages with a certain word (or words) in the title. For example, any results carrying the word “Android” in the title tag will be yielded. See the image as to how it performs,

Google ‘allintitle’ Search:



It is similar to “intitle,” search but only results comprising all of the specified words in the title tag will be yielded.

Google ‘inurl’ Search:



By conducting this search you can obtain pages with a certain word (or words) in the URL. So, if you search for inurl:Android, the results will appear with URLs bearing the word Android.

Google 'allinurl' Search:



It is similar to “inurl,” but only results comprising all of the defined words in the URL will be returned.

Google ‘inanchor’ Search:



This search helps you find pages that are being linked to distinct anchor text. For example, any results with inbound links comprising either “android” or “phone” in the anchor text will be delivered.

It is alike to “inanchor,” but only results including all of the specified words in the inbound anchor text will be returned.
